Recent developments in sensor technology have increased the sensitivity and speed of EELS acquisition, inherently changing the way EELS spectrum images are acquired. Now, a spectrum image can be acquired over multiple passes, spreading the total dose over time. In this tutorial, we will demonstrate how dose-fractionated EELS can prevent sample damage and sample drift from compromising data integrity.
