Barbara Armbruster is Vice-President of Sales and Marketing at XEI Scientific. After receiving her Ph.D. in Botany at Duke University, she pursued her interest in cryotechniques in electron microscopy as a post-doctoral research associate at the Biozentrum, University of Basel and Washington University Medical School in St. Louis. Her interest in improving electron microscope technology led to management positions at Gatan, JEOL USA and Hitachi High-Tech USA. She served as President of the Central States and Northern California Local Affiliate EM Societies and has more than forty years of experience as a microscopist.
