My name is Mauricio Castilla Pulido, and I'm from Mexico. I am a master's student in Nanosciences doing research work on the effect of nanoplastics in lung cells at the Center for Nanosciences and Nanotechnology of UNAM in collaboration with CICESE. During my undergraduate degree in nanotechnology at UNAM, I also worked on the interaction of nanoplastics with colon cells. This experience allowed me to gain knowledge about cell culture, some molecular biology techniques, spectroscopies, and microscopies. Currently, I am about to finish my master's degree and would like to get into the industry. I am interested in doing research in tissue engineering and the interaction between the cells involved, where microscopy helps me with cell staining techniques for confocal, as well as the preparation of cell samples for TEM, allowing me to understand the composition and behavior of cultures, co-cultures, and tissues.
