Daniela Fonseca is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Lehigh University. She holds a B.S. and a teaching license in Physics, transitioning to Materials Science during her M.S. at the University of São Paulo – Nuclear and Energy Research Institute. She earned her Ph.D. at the University of São Paulo – Polytechnic School, including a research visit at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory sponsored by a Brazilian government program. With expertise at the intersection of microscopy and materials science, she investigates nanoscale phenomena in metallic and ceramic systems, primarily utilizing Transmission Electron Microscopy while integrating other multiscale microstructural characterization techniques. She is an active member of professional societies and dedicated to fostering a collaborative scientific community. She co-founded and currently leads both the Lehigh Postdoctoral Association and the Early Career Group of the Microscopy Society of America (MSA).
