Dr. Søren Bredmose Simonsen is Associate Professor at DTU Energy, Denmark. He received his PhD in Physics in 2011 from DTU in collaboration with the company Haldor Topsøe A/S. Today the work of Dr. Simonsen focusses on in situ methods within transmission electron microscopy (TEM) in relation to green technologies such as electrolysis cells, fuels cells, batteries and solar cells. In his ERC starting grant project, HEIST he is working on the development of a new in situ method combining TEM with high-temperature electrochemical measurements on model solid oxide electrolysis cells.
