Dr. Scott Stagg is a Professor of Biological Science at Florida State University and Director of the Southeastern Center for Microscopy of Macromolecular Machines (SECM4). His research centers on using cryogenic electron microscopy (cryo-EM) to investigate the structures and mechanisms of protein complexes involved in membrane remodeling, neurodegenerative disorders, and virus structures. His research also involves advancing cryo-EM methods, including the development of automated data processing pipelines and integrated visualization platforms. He earned his Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and completed postdoctoral training in cryo-EM at The Scripps Research Institute.
