Staff Scientist
Idaho National Laboratory
Dr. Mukesh Bachhav is a staff scientist at Advanced Characterization Department at INL, working on microstructural characterization of as fabricated and irradiated structured materials and nuclear fuels. He received a Ph.D. degree in materials science at University of Rouen, France in 2013 where he worked on development of laser assisted Atom Probe Tomography for quantitative analysis of oxide materials. He then joined University of Michigan as a Research Fellow where his focus was on understanding and quantifying the mechanisms controlling microstructural evolution in alloy systems, interfacial properties, oxidation behavior and irradiation effects in materials using high resolution characterization techniques. He has more than 10 years of research experience for elucidating materials using Atom Probe Tomography for wide range of applications. He is working in close collaboration with Industry, National labs and University partners on several Department of Energy and Office of Science funded projects.
