Anthony Sica (they/them) did their undergraduate at Hofstra University working with Nadrian Seeman on DNA nanotechnology at NYU as well as with Scott Lefurgy on antibiotic structure function kinetic studies. After that, they recieved a Ph.D at UCLA developing novel spectroscopic methods to study underlying photophysics of various SWIR emitting materials from organic aggregates to inorganice nanoplatelets under the mentorship of Justin Caram. Currently, they are interested in developing new tools and methods to improve the correlative light and electron microscopic workflow. The majority of this has been done by developing systems to guide FIB milling of samples beyond the diffraction limit as well as integrating super resolution microscopic techniques. During their spare time they like to care for their two cats, Nutella and ZZ, and engage in outdoor activities such as rock climbing.
