Nick did his undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin in chemical engineering before joining the technology development team for thin films at Samsung Austin Semiconductor as a process engineer. Three years later he moved from Texas to Switzerland to do his master's and subsequent PhD on III-V nanowire epitaxy and characterization in the Laboratory of Semiconductor Materials at EPFL. In 2023 he joined Attolight as an applications engineer, where he now works to support customer and product developments for a wide range of applications related to cathodoluminescence and light injection in electron microscopes. He is the application owner for Attolight's Mönch CL-STEM add-on product, enabling fast and efficient CL spectroscopy and focused light introduction in STEM microscopes.
