Dr. Carlos Gamaliel Garay Reyes holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from ITZ, a Master's degree in Processes and Materials from UAZ, and a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from UASLP. He has been recognized as part of the SNII at level II and has 8 years of experience at CIMAV. His lines of research are the design, synthesis, and characterization of i) high-entropy alloys for advanced applications (bronzes and brasses, hydrogen storage, additive metallurgy, carbides and oxides, alloys with antibacterial properties), ii) aluminum-based alloys (liquid metallurgy and powder metallurgy), iii) metal matrix composite materials, and iiii) forming processes (forging, extrusion, rolling, and drawing). His areas of interest are the design and development of alloys and composite materials, as well as phase transformations and the relationship between mechanical properties, microstructure, and physical and chemical properties. He is the author of 53 scientific articles in international JCR-indexed journals (22Q1, 19Q2, 11Q3, 1Q4) and has more than 600 citations (h-index 14). He has been a guest editor for Metals, Lubricants and Coatings journals and received the International Scientific Challenge 2024 award granted by RETSCH GmbH, Germany.
