Rizwan Ali is currently working as a Research Scientist at the King Abdullah International Medical Research Center (KAIMRC). He is in charge of the Light and Microscopy Unit of KAIMRC. Before joining KAIMRC, he worked as a postdoctoral research assistant at the National University of Ireland, Galway. He obtained his Ph.D. in molecular biology and microscopy from the Technical University of Dresden, Germany. He is interested in developing and utilizing microscopy-based techniques to gain a deeper understanding of the effects of drugs and nanoparticles on a cellular level. His research interests include cellular imaging, cell motility, tissue engineering, and drug discovery. His work primarily focuses on utilizing multidimensional time-lapse and high-resolution still imaging to localize and investigate the behavior of fluorescently labeled proteins within living cells.
