Dr. H. Araceli Zavaleta-Mancera is a Professor of Botany at the Postgraduate College in Agriculture (COLPOS-SADER), part of Mexico’s Ministry of Agriculture. She earned her PhD and a Diploma in Electron Microscopy in Biological Sciences from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, UK. Since 2000, she has been an active member of the Mexican Association of Microscopy and Microanalysis (AMMM), currently serving as its president. AMMM promotes education, academic events, and scientific dissemination in microscopy for biological and material sciences. Dr. Zavaleta-Mancera has served at COLPOS for 27 years. For 15 of those years, she led the Electron Microscopy Unit, securing funding to modernize equipment and establish protocols for analyzing agricultural and livestock samples. She teaches Plant Anatomy, Histochemistry, and Electron Microscopy. Her research interests include seed and fruit anatomy of Mexican species of economic and cultural interest. In 2006, she co-founded and led the research line “Technological Innovation and Agronomy” (LPI-16), a national initiative involving 14 researchers focused on applying nanotechnology to agricultural and livestock issues. Her work includes the green synthesis of nanoparticles to prevent senescence in cut flowers and to combat pathogenic fungi and bacteria in crops and forestry. Currently, she participates in the research line “Climate Change, Plant Stress and Mitigation” (2020–2026). A dedicated academic advisor, she has supervised 73 master’s and doctoral theses. She is a Level 2 member of Mexico’s National System of Researchers (SNI) and served as Deputy Editor of the Agrociencia-México journal (2009–2011).Her scientific contributions include 130 publications, 53,695 reads, and 1,579 citations (SCOPUS, h-index: 19). She is a fellow of the Royal Microscopical Society and the Mexican Society of Histology since 1995. She also participates in evaluation committees, for Scientific funding’s, of the Ministry of Science, Humanities, Technology and Innovation in Mexico
