Andrew has worked in the field of electron microscopy for 20 years, and his career begin with helping design and manufacture LaB6 thermonic cathodes for a variety of electron guns. Andrew graduated from the Univeristy of California, Davis with a Ph. D. in Materials Science, under Dr. Klaus van Benthem. He later went on as a Post Doctoral Reseacher at the Molecular Foundary, established at Lawerence Berkeley National Laboratory, working with Dr. Shaul Aloni. Before starting at Gatan, Andrew was a project scientist and technical director of the Characterization Facility in the Materials Science Department at UC Davis. In his current role as an application scientist at Gatan, Andrew supports the analytical and STEMx products.
