Dr. Arielle Lillyn Clauser is a postdoctoral researcher in the Energy Nanomaterials Department at Sandia National Laboratories. Her work focuses on using advanced analytical microscopy and spectroscopy techniques to investigate hydrogen-generating materials, contributing to innovations in sustainable energy technologies like thermochemical watersplitting and low temperature electrolysis. Dr. Clauser earned her Ph.D. in Materials Science from Oregon State University, where she studied ion-implanted alumina heterointerfaces, leveraging cutting-edge microscopy methods to explore interfacial phenomena critical to material performance.
Prior to her doctoral studies, Dr. Clauser completed her undergraduate degree in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of North Texas, where she characterized shape memory alloys, gaining expertise in the structural and functional properties of transformative materials. Her research journey has been marked by a commitment to understanding material behavior at the nanoscale, with applications spanning energy, sustainability, and advanced manufacturing.
She is passionate about advancing microscopy methodologies to uncover new insights into material systems and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration within the scientific community. When she’s not peering into the atomic world, you’ll find her lifting weights, paddleboarding, or carving down snowy slopes.
